WITH COOL TECHNOLOGY FOR A COOL FUTURE: PERVORMANCE SUPPORTS IT WALK4FUTURE
Martina Gleissenebner-Teskey has big plans. On April 21st, the eve of International Earth Day, the best-ager model set off from her home in Klosterneuburg near Vienna to Paris for the Haute Couture Week – on foot.
“WALK4FUTURE – REthink Fashion” has the GNTM- 2022 finalist and sought-after best-ager model has christened her ambitious project. In a few weeks she wants to cover the impressive distance of 1,620 km. The goal of the trained ecologist is to make an important statement for sustainability in the fashion industry.
To reduce CO2 and to create a real The company pervormance international has also made it its mission to contribute to greater sustainability and is therefore happy to support Walk4Future. The entrepreneurs Gabriele Renner and Sabine Stein have specialized in the production of cooling textiles. Because, what hardly anyone knows, the emissions from air conditioning systems of around 1 gigaton of CO2 are responsible for over eight percent of the world’s total electricity consumption and are therefore a real climate killer.
E.COOLINE AS PART OF SOLUTION
The alternative that is as healthy as it is climate-neutral is called COOLINE SX3. Built into cooling vests and shirts, cooling scarves, cool baseball caps and arm and leg cooling, the high-performance fabric provides cooling in seconds with up to 660 watts. Only air and water are used as coolants. Up to eight The effect lasts for hours. The cool textiles are therefore part of the solution to the climate problem and a sustainable tool for climate adaptation.
And it is not just the effective, sustainable and immediately implementable heat protection solution that makes a valuable contribution to climate protection. The company itself reduces its carbon footprint by upcycling old fibers, using green electricity, short transport and production routes, regional production and reusable packaging. as well as Gold Standard climate protection projects, which means that pervormance is already climate neutral.
How fitting, then, that Martina also stopped at the pervormance company headquarters in Ulm on her WALK4FUTURE at Pentecost. Here, the pervormance managing directors Sabine Stein and Gabriele Renner, as well as Christina Fiedler from Smartfabs and Manuela Seitter from Rock`n Woll also discussed which paths the textile industry can take to become more climate-friendly.
Another important concern of the Austrian: everyone is welcome to accompany her on her journey. “It should help as many people as possible be given the opportunity to be part of WALK4FUTURE and to walk along for a bit.” In addition to the textile makers, several dozen runners from the extremely successful Rock’n Woll running group in Ulm did not need to be told twice and ran several kilometers on the Walk4Future.ndert.
The 52-year-old model now has a good 700 kilometers to go to the fashion metropolis of Paris. Thanks to the cooling pieces from the – literally – cool unisex collection from pervormance and many sustainable impulses from Ulm, she will reach her destination with a stylish look AND a cool head.
