HEAT BECOMES A HEALTH RISK

WITH E.COOLINE
PREPARE
FOR
HEAT EMERGENCIES

To prevent heat from becoming a health risk, it is important to react quickly in the event of a heat emergency. We will show you how you can use the heat emergency kit to help quickly in acute situations and which climate adaptation strategy is the most effective for your health.

HEAT - THE HEALTH RISK

A heat emergency does not only affect vulnerable groups such as the elderly, pregnant women and children. More and more people are suffering from skin problems and are at risk from high temperatures. More than 3,000 heat deaths in Germany this is the sad result reported by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) for the summer of 2023. That’s more than twice as many heat deaths as traffic deaths.

Without suitable protective measures, heat-related deaths will continue to rise, according to experts.

Therefore, special attention must be paid to preventive heat protection measures during the hot season. If a heat emergency does occur, it is important to act immediately. If heat problems are not noticed and treated in time, in the worst case scenario it can mean death.

SWEATING CAUSES
  • Cardiovascular strain
  • exhaustion syndromes
  • Headache
  • Heat collapse
  • Shortness of breath/lung problems
  • Kidney failure due to fluid loss
  • Increase in premature births and miscarriages
  • Accidents due to lack of concentration and performance
  • Heat cramps
  • Risk of heat stroke

WE NEED HEAT EMERGENCY MEASURES FROM 25°C!

Unfortunately, there is no medication and no vaccination against heat.

Previously it was assumed that a healthy person could not survive a temperature of 35 °C at 100% humidity (equivalent to 46 °C at 50% humidity) for much longer than 6 hours. Scientists at Pennsylvania University have now tested this assumption for the first time ever in a study and found that the temperature limits in young and healthy test subjects were only 30 – 31 °C (100% LF). Lower humidity did not lead to more heat tolerance either.

HEAT TOLERANCE DECREASES

Instead, the limit temperature was “only” 25 – 28 °C. For older people or those with pre-existing conditions, this is probably even lower, which is why more and more people are suffering from health problems at temperatures as low as 25 °C.

BE PREPARED FOR HEAT EMERGENCIES

FAST ACTION IS
PRIMARY

It is not always possible to provide preventative protection. Should a heat emergency occur, it is important to act immediately to avoid a disaster. If a heat stroke is not noticed and counteracted in time, it will result in a drop in blood pressure, circulatory collapse and, as a result, shock and loss of consciousness.
Due to the collapse of the entire cardiovascular system, the organs are no longer supplied with sufficient blood and oxygen, resulting, for example, in shortness of breath, fainting or seizures. Without medical treatment, heat stroke can, in the worst case scenario, lead to death.

HEAT STROKE - > SYMPTOMS:
  • High body temperature up to 40°C
  • Hot, dry and red skin
  • No sweating
  • Fast, strong pulse
    Dizziness, headache and vomiting
  • Muscle cramps
  • Drowsiness and possibly Unconsciousness
Heat exhaustion ->Symptoms:
  • High body temperature
  • Cool, pale, moist skin
  • Heavy sweating!
  • Fast but weak pulse
  • Dizziness, headaches and nausea
  • Hot, dry and red skin
  • Weakness, dizziness

THE HEAT EMERGENCY CASE HELPS SAVE LIVES

So to avoid catastrophe in the event of acute heat problems, quick action is the top priority. But how to react correctly under time pressure? What is the right first aid in a heat emergency? Where can you organize the necessary equipment – especially moderate cooling? Finally, ice and cool packs should be avoided in the event of a heat emergency.

In an acute situation, things often become hectic and confusing.

E.COOLINE’s unique heat emergency kit is the first effective first aid kit that combines all the necessary measures so that you can help on the spot without delay.

The cooling blanket is immediately dry and ready for use.

Ecooline-HitzeNotfall-Koffer: Einzelbestandteile
  • 1 pulse oximeter
  • 2 forehead fever thermometers

With the pulse oximeter and the forehead fever thermometer you can check the vital signs of the person in need of help: Place the pulse oximeter on one of the patient’s fingers – switch it on – measure the pulse rate. Report the measured values to the emergency services when they arrive.
Hold the strip thermometer at both ends and press firmly against the forehead of the person in need of assistance. The temperature can be read after a few seconds.

    • 2 drinking water bags each 100ml
    • 1 leak-proof drinking cup with drinking aid
    • 2 bags of electrolyte powder

If the person in need of help is responsive and is not vomiting, fluids should definitely be given if they have heat problems. To do this, fill a bag of electrolyte powder with a bag of drinking water into the drinking cup provided, put the lid on and carefully administer it to the patient.

Ecooline Hitzenotfall-Koffer Bestandteile: 2 Beatmungstücher

HEAT PREVENTION IS BECOMING MORE IMPORTANT

RETHINK CLIMATE
ADAPTATION
.

Acute measures are important. To ensure that emergency situations and catastrophes do not arise in the heat, we must adapt better to the heat in the future. Structural measures or greenery will only help in the medium to long term.

AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEMS OR APPLIANCES ARE EXPENSIVE AND HEAT UP THE CLIMATE EVEN MORE DUE TO THEIR CO2 EMISSIONS.

There are no staff on hand to give tips such as drinking regimes and spraying elderly residents, nor can you spend hours or days in air-conditioned supermarkets or pharmacies. All known heat tips have so far failed to solve the problem, which is why we have developed simple heat emergency kits for everyone

  • which cool effectively with up to 660 watts
  • that suit everyone
that are suitable for every situation
  • that do not require staff
  • that are climate neutral*
  • which save over 90% CO2 and energy
  • which are immediately ready for use in an emergency

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY

WHAT YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT E.COOLINE

How does cooling clothing actually work? And why should I wear you? Here you will find the most important answers.

Through to the heat generated by our body, the water molecules bound to the fibers of the 3D-COOL material evaporate so effectively that a comfortable temperature of 16 – 20°C is created with a cooling capacity of up to 660 watts/liter.

As easy and quick as washing your hands, only activate E.COOLINE products! Save water and time:

  1. MOISTURIZE : Run water evenly over the “wadded” part of the product (approx. 3 sec. per side).
  2. EXPRESS : e.g. by rolling up the product (do not wring!)
  3. DRY OFF:Wrap E.COOLINE product in a towel (also paper towel) under light pressure and dry the outer fabric at the same time
  4. TIGHT & get COOL

The high-tech fleece COOLINE SX3 in E.COOLINE is a patented technology from Germany. It has the property of binding 10 times its weight in water inside the 3D material in seconds and storing it directly on the 3D fibers. This means you stay dry and, thanks to the enormous surface area, you receive more effective and stronger evaporative cooling than with other materials.

Activating it also works much faster. You save time and water because you can charge the products under the tap in seconds.

You also cool in a climate-neutral way because you don’t need any fossil fuels, just water and air.

The 3D structure makes the products wonderfully light and, in contrast to most cooling products, breathable, sweat-absorbing and hygienic.

The COOLINE SX3 material stores so much water that you can normally stay dry and cool throughout the day.

The products therefore cool as long as water is present in the material. But the “reactivation” also takes only seconds.

Due to the physical principle of evaporative cooling, E.COOLINE cools more at higher temperatures and less at lower temperatures.

This means: the hotter it is, the more evaporates and the stronger the cooling effect. Physically, this corresponds to the cooling effect of up to 660 watts.

The HOHENSTEIN textile institute has confirmed this cooling effect for E.COOLINE.

E.COOLINE is washable, unlike most cooling textiles. Please wash your cooling clothes separately, at 30°C in wool or hand wash cycle. Please do not spin refrigerated garments or only spin them on the lowest spin cycle. Please make sure to use the right detergent.

Use simple or pH-neutral detergents without color or fiber protection so that your cooling garments retain their function and shape for a long time.

We recommend these detergents:

E.COOLINE stays hygienically clean not only by hand or in the washing machine. Industrial washing for companies is also possible. Ask us.

All you need for cooling is water and air. Fossil fuels and environmentally harmful refrigerants are not used. Therefore the cooling is climate neutral.
