HEAT ENDANGERS NURSING STAFF – COOLING CLOTHES HELPS

A lot depends on the success of the medical staff. Unfortunately, employees themselves are often tired and unable to concentrate because the rooms are often too hot. This was the finding of a NEXT survey conducted by the University of Wuppertal. A total of almost 40,000 nurses took part in the survey. 16 hospitals, 29 retirement/nursing homes and 30 outpatient care services in 13 German states were involved. In outpatient care, every second nurse feels “quite” or “very” burdened by temperature problems. But also almost 40% of the respondents in intensive care units and a quarter of the nursing homes were of this opinion.

SWEATING MAKES YOU TIRED AND UNABLE TO CONCENTRATE

Sweating requires an enormous amount of energy. One therefore feels quickly exhausted and limp in the heat, also because the cardiovascular load and the core body temperature rise. Heat exhaustion or other heat-related health problems can occur. Older emergency personnel are particularly at risk here. The ability to concentrate also decreases and it is easier to make mistakes that can be wide-ranging in the healthcare field. This is dangerous for others, but heat is also a health risk for oneself.

HEAT STRESS IS DANGEROUS

The NEXT study was conducted to assess reasons for the premature withdrawal of nursing staff from the profession. This is important, because due to the demographic development an increasing number of people in need of care is expected, resulting in an increased demand for nursing staff. The loss of staff leads to additional burdens, such as the recruitment and training of new staff, loss of knowledge and additional workload of the existing nursing staff.

It is therefore important for all those involved in the care sector that work can be carried out at suitable temperatures and without heat stress. This is where E.COOLINE can help.

WHY YOU SHOULD USE E.COOLINE

"Indoor temperatures in many older nursing home and hospital buildings also brutally rise when it gets hot outside. High outdoor temperatures are a medical emergency for patients and professionals. How is anyone supposed to be there for a patient when they themselves are on the verge of keeling over "

WORK BETTER AND ENJOY MORE OF THE EVENING WITH COOLING

To keep you healthy, focused and productive in the care sector, there’s E.COOLINE – the climate-neutral “air conditioner to wear”. The active cooling clothing is ready for use within seconds, mobile and can be used anywhere, even under extreme conditions. Thanks to the COOLINE SX3 3D technology, caregivers are actively cooled for hours with up to 660 watts. Activation works in seconds and clothing remains hygienic and dry compared to most cooling systems. The cooling vests, cooling shirts, cooling headgear and arm and leg coolers can be used under normal clothing. They take the strain off your cardiovascular system and allows you to work in a much more concentrated manner throughout the entire workday, significantly increasing your safety and health and keeping you fit for duty. This not only helps when working, but also ensures a relaxed after-work time. With E.COOLINE, you still have enough energy to enjoy your free time with friends or family.

More and more clinics and care facilities are also mindful of the environment. Instead of using CO2-intensive air-conditioning units, you cool 100% climate-neutral with E.COOLINE and save over 90% CO2.

E.COOLINE WORKS EVEN UNDER EXTREME CONDITIONS

Whether in a chemical accident, in an Ebola crisis area or in the fight against the Corona virus, E.COOLINE’s high-tech technology works perfectly even under extreme conditions. Depending on the prevailing conditions, the cooling clothing can be used immediately under the protective suit or boosted beforehand (COOL-TO-GO-System). Cooling before or after its usage is also useful, as studies have shown. As recently published in the British Journal, cooling clothing should always be used before or during periods without protective clothing.

Recovery during breaks, in particular, is also important to ensure that first responders and medical personnel are quickly fit again. Cooling is a very effective recovery method that saves energy, which is urgently needed for the next operation. Depending on the operational situation, there is a suitable solution for every situation with cooling vests & Co.
