COOLING TEXTILES AS A GAME CHANGER: E.COOLINE TRIUMPHS AT THE GERMAN SUSTAINABILITY AWARD 2025

Abkühlung 2025 nachhaltig mit E.COOLINE: Kühlweste vor kühlender Weltkugel im Wasser
Ulm, November 2024 – E.COOLINE’s innovative SMART COOLING TEXTILES have been awarded the German Sustainability Award. The award recognizes products that actively drive sustainable transformation. E.COOLINE shows how climate-friendly technologies improve living and working conditions while conserving environmental resources.
COOLING for a heat-resilient future
As temperatures rise worldwide, the health of many people is increasingly at risk. Studies confirm that extreme heat poses health risks and causes productivity losses. According to the Lancet report*, in Germany alone, over 37 million working hours were lost due to heat in 2023. In addition, heat-related illnesses are continuously increasing. This is where E.COOLINE comes in: The cooling textiles offer an immediately usable and environmentally friendly alternative to air conditioning. They require no additional energy and reduce energy consumption considerably. Air conditioning systems consume large amounts of energy worldwide and emit around one gigaton of CO₂, which further accelerates global warming.
Cooling textiles as a smart answer to the heat
With up to 660 watts of cooling power, the E.COOLINE cooling vests, shirts, headgear and home textiles ensure pleasant temperatures both indoors and outdoors without the need for external energy sources. The cooling effect is created bionics using water and air alone, which makes the technology particularly environmentally friendly and cost-saving at the same time. These textiles are already being used successfully in the workplace, in sports, medicine and leisure, and are becoming increasingly important in preventing health risks, heat-related deaths and productivity losses.
Health protection and environmental awareness combined
“We are incredibly proud of this award,” says Gabriele Renner, Managing Director of pervormance international GmbH, who developed E.COOLINE together with her sister Sabine Stein and thereby provided innovative impetus for change. “Our cooling textiles are much more than just a climate product. They are a direct response to the increasing health risks caused by heat. They make living and working spaces heat-resilient and protect health.” Compared to air conditioning systems, E.COOLINE products can save up to 97 percent of CO₂ emissions. “The fact that our products have now been officially recognized as pioneers in health and climate protection shows how valuable this technology is,” emphasizes Sabine Stein.
